 BestOHM.com is an Ongoing Health Monitoring Portal of the B.O.H.M. Telemedicine Center for:
::TeleMedicine Web-based on WAP and WAPphonic (Wireless Application Protocol Telephony), 3G UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication Service), including Wi-Fi 802.11g and WiMAX 802.16e technologies;
::Healthcare&Medical service, which operates as a computerized network system;
::e-Health Management designed to automatically receive data, transmitted mainly over wireless device such as cellphone, mobile PDA (Personal Data Assistant), Palmtop, SmartPhone, Pocket PC, etc. or over a standard telephone line, through Patient's Personal Medical Monitoring Devices (PMMDs).
 Blood Pressure & Heart Rate Meter with Pocket PC As such, it is a Portal for Biology & Medical services with 3G WAPphonic (Wireless Application Protocol for third generation of mobile Telephony) Technology, because operates over both 3G wireless devices and standard WTA devices (with Wireless Telephony Application service only) or over conventional landline telephone devices, that define the first generation Web Medical and Healthcare Centers.
As noted above, the B.O.H.M is a Wireless Internet Bio-Parameters Monitoring System (WIBPMS) comprising a patient monitoring device which is conveniently worn or used by a patient/subscriber and which interfaces with sensors together with a combination network that allows biologic signals or measurements to be reviewed and acted upon by a health care provider who is located remotely from the patient/subscriber. Data from the monitoring system is sent in a wireless mode over a cellular network to the Internet, and then to a data analysis center (B.O.H.M Data Center) for retrieval and review by a medical care provider.
One embodiment of the Wireless Internet Bio-Parameters Monitoring System (WIBPMS) is illustrated how patient/subscriber wears a multi-variable portable data monitor devices (PMMDs). This PMMD monitors a variety of physiological signals of a patient/subscriber as further noted below.
 The PMMD has the capability of communicating bi-directionally via voice in much the same manner as a normal cellular telephone.
The data of the Patient/Subscriber is processed in our B.O.H.M. Medical Center.
PMMDs are devices, such as: - ECG;
- Blood Pressure Measuring Device;
- Glucose Meter;
- Oxigen Saturation Level Device;
- Respiratory Flow Meter;
- Others - Temperature Meter, Weight Scale, etc.
The data of the Patient/Subscriber is processed as follows:
- identifies patient calling by Patient/Subscriber's ID #;
- automatic recognizes different type of medical parameters;
- stores data in Patient/Subscriber's personal file;
- automatic decides what kind of alarm as an event and which way is the right way to alarm to - Family members, Physicians, Emergency department or for an ordinary conversation between Patient and his/her GP.
Our server offers the subscriber's physiological data over wireless device such as cellphone, mobile PDA (Personal Data Assistant), Palmtop, Smart Phone, Pocket PC, etc. or over a standart telephone line, through PMMD. Wireless connections should be used where possible to support mobility and adaptability at the various levels of the network. Otherwise, the transmission of data can be over a standard landline telephone, for full functional interaction.
In a general way, Bestohm.com is an WAPphonic Ongoing Health Monitoring Portal in the domain of TeleMedicine. Our Portal is a System for observing patients in geographically dispersed health care locations, outdoor hospitals' health care services and allows them to make "self-portrait" of their Biology & Medical parameters to the B.O.H.M. Health Care Center.
So that, WAPphonic Medicine means medical services via BAN (Body Area Network) over Patient's cellphone or VoIP telephone, WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication Service), specially. By usage of UMTS equipment, Web Servers and Workstations with 802.11 WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) Card and Roaming WAP Gateway, we have the service, that allows doctors to make a medical diagnosis from a distance, and to work across countries and continents. Bestohm.com is an e-Health Management System. The portal operates as a medical support network for e-Health Management and improvement of healtcare, diseases and clinical trials. B.O.H.M.'s Services allow physicians to make a medical diagnosis not only directly
at home or hospital, but from a distance and to work across coutries and continents.
